I have read many pieces in the Wal-Street Journal (as I call it, because that conjures the ugly name Wal-Mart) suggesting that the ultimate cause of the Democratic loss was the electorate’s cultural mood feeling like “wokeness went too far” and then wanting some other vibes for a spell. If this is true, winning midterm elections will be easy.
Consider this trick, Democrats. Whenever someone criticizes anything, shout “See? I am being canceled. Has political correctness gone too far?”
Get caught in a sex scandal? (“Sorry I’m not woke, bro.”)
You think Pete Hegseth is a dummy? (“Looks like a DEI hire to me.”)
There’s no reason for Democratic leaders not to show some disinhibition now. It would be cathartic to occasionally call some sitting congressman or woman across the aisle a bitch, and if that offends, well, “suck it up, snowflake.”
Is this what pundits mean by authenticity?
If Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were to pass this new strategy on to his caucus, it would only be a matter of time before we reached a bipartisan consensus asking that American politicians have character again.
